How to Submit a New Deal

Businesses use Deals to make an investment opportunity available to account holders. This article walks through creating and submitting a Private deal from your AET Business Account.

Summary

Create a deal from the Deals tab in the Business Portal, enter your deal details, set your funding instructions, and upload blank copies of your investment document templates. Submit the deal for review; it moves from In Review to Active once approved, typically within 3 to 5 business days. Funding instructions cannot be changed after a deal goes Active, so confirm them before you submit.

Before You Start

  • You need access to your AET Business Account. Deals are available in the Business Portal only, not the Investor Portal.
  • Have your blank investment document templates ready. Upload unsigned templates, not completed documents.
  • Have your funding instructions confirmed. These are locked once the deal is Active.
Private and Marketplace Deals

When you create a deal you choose its type. This article covers Private deals.

Marketplace deals use a DocuSign integration to prefill and route investment documents automatically. They require a DocuSign account on your side and an integration linked under Settings > Integration before the deal is set up. If you need a Marketplace deal, contact AET before you begin, as the setup differs from the steps below.

Submitting a Private Deal

  1. Log in to your AET Business Account.
  2. Navigate to the Deals tab on the left side.
  3. Select the New Deal button on the far right.
  4. Select Private.
  5. Enter the information for your deal. You will typically be asked for:
Field group What it covers
Deal identity Deal name, description, asset class, and marketing website
Issuer Issuer entity name, entity type, and Tax ID
Security Security type, unit amount, and total units
Amounts Total funding amount and minimum investment amount
Investor terms Investor qualification requirements and liquidity
Contact Sales contact email and fund administrator
  1. Add the Funding Parameters.

Due dates and funding minimums are enforced once set. A due date prevents funding after that date, and a minimum prevents funding below that amount. We suggest leaving these blank unless you want them enforced.

  1. Add the Funding Instructions. Choose the funding method and enter the matching details:
Funding method What to enter
Wire The wire instructions for receiving investment funds
Check The check instructions for funding the investment by check
Inter-Account Transfer Use this method to receive investment funds in your AET Business Account

Funding instructions cannot be modified once the deal is Active. Confirm them before you submit.

  1. Upload your document templates. Upload blank copies of the investment documents for this deal, separated as described in the AET investment document requirements. Keep each document as its own upload rather than combining them into one file.

Once you link an investor's investment to the deal, they receive a copy of these templated documents in their account.

  1. Select Review and check the information for accuracy.
  2. Select Submit.

Your deal is now submitted.

After You Submit

Status What it means
In Review AET is reviewing the deal. No action needed from you
Active The deal is approved. You can link investor investments to it
On Hold for Corrections Something is missing or unclear. AET will tell you what is needed

Statuses typically update within 3 to 5 business days.

Important Information

  • Deal review confirms custody eligibility, nothing more. AET reviews deal documents to confirm the investment can be held in a qualified AET account. We do not perform investor accreditation and we do not analyze investment risk.
  • Deal approval does not approve any individual investment. Each account holder must still submit a Direction of Investment (DOI) with completed investment documents titled in the name of their IRA, using AET's EIN and address. AET must receive and approve that separately before funding.
  • Upload blank templates, not executed documents. Account holders complete and sign their own copies.
